Christmas is just around the corner!

The festive aura is here as you can see many people in town shopping for gifts.

It is the best time of the year for most people.

Christmas is about spending time with family and taking some rest from everyday busy life.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions in some countries and expensive flight tickets, not everyone has the chance to spend this time with their close ones.

Christmas event for students

Teesside University is known for its multiculturalism and diversity.

There are thousands of international students coming here from all over the world every year.

Plenty of them are staying in university accommodation throughout their studies.

Being an international student often means you have to stay alone for Christmas due to various reasons such as expensive flight tickets, long distance, or now, COVID-19 restrictions in place.

Of course, there will be home students who are staying in their accommodati0n during Christmas as well.

Don’t worry!

Teesside University always puts student’s wellbeing first so you won’t feel left out.

Accommodation team is organizing a Christmas lunch for students who will be staying in their university halls during this time.

It is aimed at those who will be staying alone rather than groups of people.

The event will have various attractions such as quiz and different games.

There will also be a variety of food including halal and vegan options.

The Christmas lunch is not about eating the best food or having big attractions but bringing people together during this festive time and making sure everyone has the best time even if they are not able to go home this year.

Angela Ramage – Head of Student Accommodation and Facilities

You can purchase the ticket by emailing accommodation team or simply coming to their office in Middlesbrough Tower room M2.09.

It is a good idea to get your tickets now as there are limited tickets available!

If you are staying alone in your university hall this Christmas, come along to the Christmas lunch.

It is a perfect opportunity to make some new friends and spend some quality time with other people.
