DOCUMENTING A NEW WLAN FOR TEESSIDE UNIVERSITY – LIAM CURRY

My project set out to document a new Wireless Local Area Network for Teesside University, discussing what protocols, networking equipment and security would be implemented across campus and justifications for this. This was complimented by a map of my solution, with a Packet Tracer of two campus buildings to demonstrate part of the proposed network and a review of the current policies in place at the university in regards to the wireless network currently in place and how it could be tailored to suit the proposed network put forward. I have a great interest in Wi-Fi and network security and how it works as well as the different policies/laws that should be adhered to in regards to proper use of a computer network so wanted to do a project that put what skills I had in this area to the test and gain some new skills too.
