OPTIMIZATION OF A VENTURI-TYPE MICROBUBBLE GENERATOR USING CFD SIMULATION – DILLON ALEXANDER WILSON

I have created a CFD model using Ansys Fluent to optimize the design of a venturi-style microbubble generator. The model allows the user to see the effects that geometrical properties have on the average size of the bubbles produced at the outlet of the generator. This is very useful as there are industrial demands to produce bubbles of a certain diameter, in the micrometre range, in order to increase water oxygenation in aquacultural applications. The model produced interesting results which produced further areas of potential research for venturi-type microbubble generators.
