Should gyms have stayed open for peoples’ wellbeing?

After almost six months of gyms and leisure centres being closed, Boris Johnson announced in his latest speech that once the lockdown is over, they will once again be able to reopen.

This does leave the question however, should gyms have been considered essential in the first place to help with peoples’ mental health and wellbeing?
