START UP SPRINT LOOKING TO INSPIRE STUDENTS

Teesside Launchpad have organised a series of introductory start-up business workshops for undergraduates studying at Teesside University called the Start Up Sprint.

The Start Up Sprint is designed to be an engaging programme for students who are interested in entrepreneurship and would like to explore ideas that they may have and how to develop them.

The workshop will be held weekly, with the first starting on Wednesday, 18th April 2018 at 2pm. They will provide provide an opportunity to gain confidence and learn transferable employability skills

You do not need to arrive with a business idea already to attend the workshops. Let’s take a look at the workshop schedule:

Workshop 1: Start Up Box
18 April /2.00pm – 4.00pm 

Week one will be focusing on team building and the simple steps to communicating and developing business ideas.

Workshop 2: Teesside Launchpad Business Model Canvassing (BMC)
26 April / 2.00pm – 4.00pm 

The Business Model Canvassing is the perfect tool to get ideas from heads to paper without having to form complex sentences about profit and loss and three-year strategies! 

Workshop 3: Market Research and the ‘Mom Test’
3 May/ 2.00pm – 4.00pm 

In week three, you will get the opportunity to speak to potential customers, test your ideas and use your findings in your final pitch.

Workshop 4: Networking and Pitching
10 May / 4.00pm – 6.00pm 

In week four, you will test out your own elevator pitches based on your personal values. It will give you an opportunity to explore networking opportunities in the local area and develop your business pitch. 

Celebration Event
6.00pm – 8.00pm 

This networking event will celebrate your achievements over the course workshop, and you’ll pitch your idea to the room with the chance to win a prize.
