TASK 1 PHOTOGRAPHY: “GONE BANANAS”

Inspiration & Motivation: Lockdown ā€œGone Bananasā€

Lockdown for many has been an experience of repetitive days, isolation, and a variety of emotions. To cope or pass the extra time, people have been learning new hobbies, in particular, baking. On social media, a lot of people have been making banana bread. It has become a bit of a ā€˜thingā€™.

Personally, I have struggled with the monotony of lockdown days and have comforted myself with food. Food has become the highlight of my lockdown days, and with an abundance of bananas in the house, I too have made several loaves of banana bread. It developed into a constant craving and I would say I have ā€œgone bananasā€ for banana bread!

Image 1 (bananas): The start of lockdown. A simple, lonely yet optimistically yellow, bunch of bananas.

Image 2 (portrait): A few weeks into lockdown. Not quite feeling myself, comfort eating begins. All I want is banana bread. All I can see on social media are people showing off their banana bread! I too must have banana bread!

Image 3 (abstract): A few months into lockdown. A repeated pattern of bananas to represent the monotony of lockdown days

Conclusion: Usually, I donā€™t particularly like bananas. ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ
