Teesside University students will be involved in ghostly goings on at Bolton Castle

Teesside University’s students are taking part in ghostly goings  on as part of a special Halloween event.

Students from the Performing Arts degree are heading to Bolton Castle, Leyburn, to take part in the spooky spectacular.

The Performing Arts students are working alongside professionals from Same Difference Arts to terrify guests for the opening of the event.

The student’s will be dressed as medieval characters to terrify the guests by bringing the castle back to life.

This will be the historic 14th-century Castle’s first Halloween event where their guests will be greeted with plenty of frights if they dare enter the gates.

A Bolton Castle spokeswoman said: “We are hugely excited about this first Halloween event at the castle, and we’re delighted to be working with a professional arts company to stage what promises to be a spectacular evening.”

The Teesside University students are taking part for their module Live Immersive Project and the BA Dance students as part of their module Dance Professional Practice. It also gives them the  opportunity to work with a professional company.

Lorraine Smith, who is the Course Leader of BA Dance and BA Performing Arts, said:  “I am looking forward to seeing the students hard work come to fruition. Particularly to see them perform engaging characters to a high standard alongside a professional company in a beautiful location.”

Teesside University Students have the opportunity to focus on the story of the Mary Queen of Scots who was known as ‘Bloody Mary’. Theses tales will surely give the guests an exciting evening full of scary delights.

The event takes place between October 26-31 and starts at  6pm and finishes at 9pm and will include a themed welcome drink and a two-course-meal to enjoy by the log fire for £20.
