VIDEO REPORT: THE KNIFE ANGEL OFFICIALLY UNVEILED IN CENTRE SQUARE, MIDDLESBROUGH

The Knife Angel was today (6th August 2019) officially unveiled in Middlesbrough’s Centre Square where it will remain until the end of August.

The sculpture by Alfie Bradley, supported by the British Ironwork Centre, took more than 2 years to construct and is made out of 100,000 knives obtained through a national knife amnesty across 43 UK police forces.

Standing as a “monument against violence and aggression”, The Knife Angel was brought to Middlesbrough thanks to the combined efforts of Theresa Cave (www.thechriscavefoundation.org), Police & Crime Commissioner for Cleveland, Barry Coppinger and Middlesbrough Council.
