ExpoTalent – Game Interface Design

The aim of this module was to produce a working front-end and HUD (heads-up-display) interface for an imaginary game. The game concept I decided on was a first-person adventure-detective game called “Odon Whyte: Detective Agency”. The player would be put in the shoes of Detective Odon Whyte, a freelance detective in a 1950s, noire-themed New York. Whyte’s job is to solve cases by collecting evidence and information.

As my main passion is the technical design of a game, I decided to go a step further and incorporate spatial/in-world UI elements into my menu, and to incorporate objects into my HUD design.

There’s still lots to change about the project and new things I could have added in and changed, however this proved to be a learning experience for me in just how important UI is in games.
