For my final year project, I created an ios based ordering system for a retail company. As an employee of the company, I saw the issues with the current version which is why I wanted to create a new mobile-first approach. The application allows the company to create accounts for both the selling staff and admin staff who are able to do different tasks. The selling staff are able to create a full order for a customer with all the relevant information such as the customer’s name, address and the product information and price. The admin team are then able to view these orders in order to update and delete the orders if they need to. The application was created using Swift and used CocoaPods in order to connect to the back-end database which housed all the company and customer information. The back-end database which I used was Google Firebase. It was interesting learning a new language and applying the skills learnt from university in order to create the application.
