TEESSIDE RAVER CAUGHT UP IN WAREHOUSE PROJECT STABBINGS

A Teesside woman has spoken about attending a huge music event where two people were stabbed.

The Warehouse Project, based at The Depot in Manchester, is one of the largest music events in the North of England and is becoming increasingly popular among the Teesside rave crowd.

But, the popular Manchester club night, The Warehouse Project, recently fell victim to a double stabbing where two young males, aged 20 and 21, were knifed at the prominent city centre nightclub.

Their injuries were notĀ  life-threatening.

Leah Gordon, from Middlesbrough,Ā  attended the event on the night of the incidentĀ  and spoke to TuXtra about her experience.

Leah said: “There isn’t really any event of its kind around Teesside which is why so many people are happy to travel further to see these big time DJ’s.

“Tickets aren’t cheap and you expect to have a great experience for what you pay, but this night did not live up to expectation.”

Leah claimedĀ  The Warehouse Project published a ‘last entry’ time at the last minute on their Instagram.

She said: “Everyone was in a mad rush to get there. I think because of this everyone arrived at the same time so it was packed trying to get in there.”

She also claimed: “There was a clear lack in security. They did a bag check but it was hardly thorough and as much as I can remember there were no metal detectors anywhere. People could have very easily brought knives in.”

“Because of the lack of security it was clear that lots of people were off their face. There were empty drug packets everywhere.Ā  The vibes were really off.

“I ended up spending most of the night at the back of the crowds. I didn’t feel safe at all. Everyone seemed to be looking for a fight”

“I had no idea the stabbings had even taken place.

“It could have been any one of us if we’d been in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Twitter users also expressed their concerns.

One user tweeted: “Could literally be any 1 of us n he canā€™t even publicly acknowledge the mattersā€¦ Take ownership like you rightfully should – not only when it benefits your pockets”Ā

A statement issued by The Warehouse Project said the event condemns any form of violence, anti-social or threatening behaviour.
