Redcar Athletic are top of the Northern Premier League table, sitting seven points clear of second-place Matlock Town. They have games in hand and a significant goal difference. It almost looks like promotion is already theirs.

But how are Redcar Athletic winning so many games, and how are they scoring so much? TUXtra’s Matthew Hancock spoke to manager Carl Jarrett.

Carl Jarrett was appointed as the first team manager of Redcar Athletic on January 9, 2024.

Following his appointment, he restructured the management team by bringing in key staff, helping turn the team into a dominant force in the Northern Premier League.

The Redcar Athletic manager said: “The success in any of my teams as always been a club effort. As a manager, I have always tried to set standards high at everything at the club on and off, so when players come to the club, they can see the way it is run, so everyone buys into what we try to achieve.

“What also helps is keeping a lot of lads from last season’s title-winning team who already know what the standards are.

“As a manager, I would love to get this club as high as we possibly can go on the pitch. Obviously, there is a lot of work off the field along the way, which I know the club wants to push along with myself. As for achievements, we want to win as many trophies as we can.”

Jarrett has a clear goal and method, and has implemented it in his team very well. He has brought in his own staff to do the job, which has helped him make a title-contending team.

It shows he has a good relationship with the clubs and the players, as is shown by the results. He has shown he has many ideas and plans to take Redcar Athletic to the top, with a plan to fill the trophy cabinet.
