Teesside university student spreading positivity with secret gifts

A Teesside University student is set to spread a wave of positivity later this week by dotting secret handmade gifts around the campus for students to find.

Kerri Coyne has created “pocket hugs”, which are small handmade tokens containing uplifting messages, intended to offer encouragement and reassurance to those who find them.

Kerri said: “As a student myself, I understand how stressful university life can sometimes feel.

“This campaign is about spreading kindness and reminding people that even small gestures can make someone feel supported.”

Kerri is the founder of a small business called Positivity by Design, which is focused on creating handmade well-being gifts designed to promote self-care, kindness, and emotional support.

Kerri said the campaign aims to encourage positive community engagement and she is encouraging students who find a Pocket Hug to keep it and share their discovery on social media using the hashtag #CraftingWellbeing.
