A Teesside festival is back and it’s allowing art students to showcase and sell their artwork.

Teessound festival is an all-day festival that showcases local Teesside talent.

The festival was created by the co-directors of Pundits Network, musician Donny Jevs, 25 and graphic designer Annabelle Chaytor 25, ‘Scribelle‘ of Teesside.

It’s first event was held at Basecamp in Middlesbrough.

The event had food stalls and live music.

There were also art exhibitions by The Northern School of Art students who displayed and sold their artwork.

Artwork created by a student of The Northern School of Art, exhibited at Teessound festival 1.

At the next event, Teesside University art students will be exhibiting and selling their artwork.

Donny said: “I got in touch with some friends that I have at the university, who would be game to exhibit work that they’ve done as part of their course at Teesside. Or just something that they have made in their own time in the private realm of their creativity.”

Teessound Festival 2: The Fall

After the success of the first event, Teessound directors decided to announce its next event, Teessound festival 2: The Fall.

Donny said: ” I decided to do another event because the first one was successful.”

“The attendance surpassed my expectations, so it made sense for it to go again.”

Like the first event it will have numerous stalls and exhibitions.

Donny said: “There’s going to be bands, hip hop music, live DJ sets, live music.”

“There’s also going to be food, art exhibitions, stalls. It’s pretty much going to be a day and night of a festival but indoors.”

The festival was originally going to be held in Basecamp, Middlesbrough on November 19.

Basecamp has sadly announced it is closing its doors, with its last event being held next Saturday November 12.

Donny confirmed Teessound festival 2: The fall will still go ahead but in a new venue and possibly on new date.

The new date and venue are yet to be announced.
